Which principles guide IODP-MI? |

- The scientific community is the principle stakeholder of IODP. IODP-MI is receives scientific proposals from any scientist or group of scientists and submitted through its Sapporo Office. Through the SAS, the community will assess and rank proposals and initial scientific plans and approves the final implementation plans put forward by IODP-MI for consideration.
- IODP is a single, integrated, international program of scientific ocean drilling, with multiple drilling platforms. The CMO, the IOs, and the SAS are all vital elements of IODP.
- All SOC funds are co-mingled, budgeted and managed by the CMO.
