Two months after leaving Ponta Delgada for the IODP Expedition 339, JOIDES Resolution arrived in Lisbon with 35 scientists from 14 countries.

On January 18 and 19, JR received about 600 visitors and welcomed by the expedition science party, Javier Hernandez-Molina and Dorrik Stow, Co-chief Scientists, Antje Voelker, Micropaleontologist, and Helder Periera, Education Officer.

This expedition collected the first sediments from deep subseafloor off the coast of the Iberian Peninsula and the Gulf of Cadiz and attracted media to issue some quality news.
