IODP is an international marine research program that aims to extend the boundaries of its research community and create a welcoming environment in which more scientists can participate. By involving more scientists, IODP hopes to engage a greater portion of the public in meaningful activities related to science and lifelong scientific learning.

The program’s Implementing Organizations (IOs) and Program Member Offices (PMOs) support IODP through educational outreach to scientists and nonscientists.
