A small group consisting of representatives from SASEC, SPC, SSEP, and IODP-MI was tasked with formulating an implementation plan for IODP Missions. The plan includes guidance on what constitutes a Mission, how to submit Mission proposals, how Missions will be designated, the process of Mission implementation, and the SAS-review and evaluation process. The first Mission proposals may be submitted during the next IODP-MI call for proposals (deadline April 1, 2007).
SASEC and IODP-MI have jointly decided in October 2007 that there will be no call for mission proposals at the April 1st 2008 proposal submission deadline.
