The IODP Science Advisory Structure (SAS) recommended distributing DSDP/ODP/IODP cores on the same geographical basis. Accordingly IODP-MI and the IODP Implementing Organizations are implementing a SAS-approved core consolidation plan that redistributes the DSDP and ODP core collections located at GCR, ECR, and WCR to GCR, BCR and KCC. The tables below show the current and proposed core redistribution patterns. .......................................................................................................................................

The primary activity in FY06 and into early FY08 is the redistribution of cores from the East Coast Repository (ECR) at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory to the Bremen Core Repository. The current core redistribution activity is shown here. The file shows all proposed activity for the ECR, cores currently out of circulation (i.e., cores being packed or in transit), and cores ready for sampling at the new repository.
The timelines for cores yet to be moved are approximate. Scientists interested in obtaining samples from the cores identified in this move should contact the John Firth (
) to determine more definitively when the cores will be temporarily out of circulatio
